Ronnie Rice Did What?

The Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Golden State Warriors in a pre-season game with a score of 120-105.

New Laker Jeremy Lin is still out with a sprained ankle, that may or may not have been caused by the extra weight he's carrying from that chip on his shoulder.

Steve Nash is back, which is shocking considering the injuries he has had as well as the fact that he is the league's oldest player at 40.

Kobe is looking rejuvenated and seems comfortable (although perhaps annoyed at times) in his role as veteran and provider of sage advice for his squad full of eager young athletes.

But these very typical stories are not what is making headlines from this game.

Guard Ronnie Rice, who is new to the team, drew a technical foul after lobbing his shoe at Golden State's Andre Iguodala.

That's right. He threw a shoe.

After tripping up and having his shoe come loose, he gave up the ball, and in retaliation he tossed it as he chased Iguodala down the court...like a jackass.

Mark my words, this guy is gonna be a problem. Yeah, it is just the pre-season and some do not take it as seriously as others. But when you have a player signed for a one year deal (so far) and he is acting like a toddler there needs to be s sit down had.

Recently Kobe Bryant spoke of Price saying “When he was in Utah, he gave us a lot of problems. He really turned a few games around for them...with his energy and ability to get to the basket. He's an underrated shooter.”

Please.

With an average of 3.4 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game I'm not expecting him to be a dynamic player for a team that is suffering from injuries, lacking leadership, has a new coach and is installing new systems.

Not to mention, this whole damn city seems to have jumped on the Clipper bandwagon.  It's way too convenient for these fairweather Laker fans to have another team in the same building!
